Silver trees are rarely seen outdoors in the UK. These healthy plants growing outside the Abbey garden on Tresco curiously do better than the ones in the garden. They need lots of air movement, bright light, little or no frost and being Proteaceae dislike phosphorous. They are relatively easy to grow from seed but keeping them alive can be a challenge if you don't indulge them.
