To continue with this short series on plants that make Tresco Abbey Garden so special we have from left to right.
1. Norfolk Island Pine - Araucaria heterophylla. A relative of the monkey puzzle and as distinctive and eye-catching but unfortunately not happy with sub zero temperatures. There are a good number of these in the garden and they look as healthy and happy as they do in their homeland.
3. Butia capitata front centre. Maybe not the finest specimen (after the winter storms) but possibly one of the largest and oldest of the few growing in the British Isles.
