The walk round Dove Lake is spectacular not only for the scenery but also the variety of plant life. This photo was taken at the far end of the lake where the forest comes down the the lakeside. Nothofagus, Sassafras, Phyllocladus, Diselma, Arthrotaxis, Richea and Eucalyptus all grow in the vicinity. Away from the patches of forest the area is covered in a wide variety of alpine and sub-alpine vegetation. The elevation of the lake is 1500m and the walk is around 6km.
